Principal's Message

Welcome Back Patriot Families,

I hope that you and your family had a safe and healthy summer. We sure do miss seeing our Patriots everyday! I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your patience and understanding over the last few months as we are working to adapt and adjust to the ever changing environment that we are in right now. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding during this unprecedented time! We are all in this this together!

As you know, we are starting the year off in Distance Learning on Thursday August 13th. Distance Learning will look very different this fall and we are committed to providing your students with rigorous, high quality standards based instruction. Distance Learning will include full-day instruction with required daily attendance and participation. Instruction will include a hybrid of  live virtual lessons, prerecorded lessons, small group work and independent assignments. We will provide students with interventions and support to mitigate learning loss from the spring and will also provide enrichment in the form of music, PE, and art. Progress reports will be sent out regularly and report cards will also be given.

We look forward to the time when we can all be back together on campus again; but in the meantime, please know that our Washington staff is working hard to plan and deliver a high quality Distance Learning program.  We have a very talented staff who will be dedicated to teaching, challenging and nurturing your child.   We strive to make our school a fun learning environment. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of assistance.  Your participation and feedback are crucial to our school wide improvement. I look forward to meeting you in the weeks to come!

On behalf of the Washington teachers and staff….Welcome Back!

Learn from Home Resources

Learn from Home Resources are posted on our HESD website. You will notice that resources are organized by grade level spans: TK-2nd, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th. Please check out the resources to support continued learning for your child!
Thank you for your support!

Please have all students enter through the kindergarten gate, north of the kindergarten classrooms. We hope this will alleviate traffic congestion in the parking lot area.  Remember: in consideration of others, please pull all the way forward when dropping off your students.

Change in Dismissal Information

To provide optimal safety, security and consistency for all students, any changes to your child's dismissal instructions will only be accepted until 11:00 a.m. each morning. Exceptions will be made for extreme emergencies only. Please help us  keep your child safe and secure by adhering to this policy on a daily basis.

Lost and Found

Lost and found items are hung and displayed on a hanging rack near the front office.  Please be sure to check on a weekly basis for lost items. At the end of each month, all items will be donated to the local HOPE organization. To help us identify lost clothing, especially jackets, write your child's name inside when possible.

Asbestos Management Plan

The Hanford Elementary School District under asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), is required to develop and implement a management plan for dealing with the presence of asbestos-containing materials in our schools.  Our school was built asbestos free.  This plan is available for your inspection in the school office.  A copy of all school plans is also available in the District Office, located at 714 N. White Street.
